The Philadelphia spring event season is in full swing! With so many great causes and so many opportunities to make a difference, we want to make sure you know about all of them so you can get involved! Here is our list of the hottest charity events happening this week in Philadelphia:
Spotlight on S.W.A.N. (April 18, 2015 from 12:30-2pm at The Trust Performing Arts Center)
“Spotlight on SWAN” will celebrate our children’s accomplishments, honor you as our donors and give our students an opportunity to thank you! Enjoy light lunch fare during our “Meet and Greet”, learn about SWAN’s exciting future plans and needs, and then sit back and enjoy as our children perform.
SWAN’s mission is to break the cycle of crime for children whose parent(s) have a history of incarceration by providing free private music lessons, ensemble training, performance opportunities and mentoring. SWAN offers children help and hope by giving them skills to scale their walls a note at a time.
12th Annual Coaches vs. Cancer Basket Ball (April 18, 2015 from 6:30-11:30pm at Hilton Penn’s Landing)
Philadelphia’s NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Coaches Phil Martelli (Saint Joseph’s University), Fran Dunphy (Temple University), Steve Donahue (University of Pennsylvania), James “Bruiser” Flint (Drexel University), John Giannini (La Salle University) and Jay Wright (Villanova University) will join forces with more than 450 guests, including Philadelphia’s community leaders and local sports media personalities, to fight back against cancer. The BasketBall 2015 honoree is David Montgomery, Chairman of the Philadelphia Phillies. Dan Fitzpatrick, President of Citizens Bank of PA/NJ/DE, and Governor Edward Rendell are the event’s co-chairs.
Music for All Ball (April 18, 2015 from 7:00-11:00pm at Mummer’s Museum)
Join Rock to the Future in celebrating our 5th anniversary at the 2015 Music for All Ball on Saturday, April 18th at the world famous Mummers Museum in Philadelphia. The Music for All Ball raises awareness and funds to provide free music education for underserved Philadelphia youth. The event will feature emcee Wendy Rollins of 104.5 FM, live music Rock to the Future’s student house band and local brass band Swift Technique, new Hall of Fame inductees (Arts and Business Council, Drexel’s MAD Dragon Records), awesome raffle and auction items, and complimentary light fare and drink for all, including local Yards beer and dairy and non-dairy ice cream from Little Babies.
Spring Champagne Brunch & Auction (April 19, 2015 from 11:00am-2:30pm at Meadowlands Country Club)
Toast to good health! Don’t miss the Women’s Center of Montgomery County’s annual Spring Champagne Brunch. The theme this year features experts from the world of health and fitness. Special guests include Dr. Brian McDonough (KYW News Radio Medical Editor), Dr. Rosalind Kaplan (Director at Temple Health Women’s Care), Dr. Janet Lang (Lang Chiropractic and Wellness Spa), and Vikki Amon (Nationally Certified Personal Trainer at Fit 4 You). Back by popular demand, the program moderator will once again be Larry Kane. Featuring raffles, a live and silent auction, and a delicious brunch buffet.
Rittenhouse Square Flower Market Garden Party (April 19, 2015 from 2:00-5:00pm at Chima Brazilian Steakhouse)
As a prelude to the 100th Annual Flower Market, the RSFMCC is hosting a “Garden Party” Founded in 1914 as The Rittenhouse Flower Market Association (RSFMA), in 2008, the name was changed to The Rittenhouse Square Flower Market for Children’s Charities (RSFMCC)(hereinafter referred to as “The Flower Market”), to better explain to the community the purpose of the Market.
Rock ‘n Roll to Fight Illness (April 19, 2015 from 5:00-9:00pm at Howl at the Moon)
Join Philly’s top professionals and we gather for a great evening of Dueling Piano entertainment to benefit Manna and the NACE Foundation. This “PRIVATE EVENT” will feature exclusive networking opportunities and a chance to do some great things for to very worthy local charities while have a Rock’N’ time.
