What’s sexier than a room full of sky-high stilettos and one of a kind kicks? Having them signed by celebrities and auctioned off to raise money for a great cause– that’s what! Philadelphia’s most stylish and philanthropic will descend on the Cescaphe Ballroom (923 N. 2nd Street, Philadelphia) on Thursday, June 11th to raise support for the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation, which empowers students to meet needs in their local communities.

Join hosts Countess LuAnn de Lesseps from Bravo’s hit television series Real Housewives of New York and Philadelphia-favorite Mike Missanelli from 97.5 The Fanatic for an unforgettable night of dinner, drinks, dancing…and a one-of-a-kind shoe auction! The inaugural event features a top shelf open bar, silent and live auctions (did we mention there would be shoes?!), complimentary valet parking, spectacular entertainment and a VIP outdoor cigar lounge.

The Wish Upon A Hero Foundation is designed to engage students in philanthropy while making a direct impact on the lives of people in their local community. Wish Upon A Hero provides the resources and tools that empower students to support causes that are personal and meaningful to them, as they experience giving back. Rooted in leadership, education, youth philanthropy and personal fulfillment, Wish Upon A Hero supports intellectual and emotional growth in youth. Most recently, the Lenape High School Hero Club raised $1,000 for Dan Hill, an 8th grade classmate who was recently diagnosed with bone cancer.

Executive Director of the Wish Upon A Hero Foundation– Anne Gutos– believes there is no greater task than empowering and equipping youth to meet the needs of those around them. “To have an important hand in educating youth in our Hero Club program is extremely fulfilling. And to experience the  results from what our high school students provide for others in need within their own their community is more than fulfilling. It is life altering”.

With the support of the support of a long list of local celebrities who have lent their hands and given their “shoes” in support of this important mission, WUAH hopes to build over 25 new high school Hero Clubs in the Philadelphia region this year– with plans to expand rapidly throughout the country in the near future.
